Celebrating the sacraments is at the core of our parish life.

Our big moments in life are marked in a solemn way from womb to tomb.

Here we provide all the details for the celebration of the sacraments in our parish.

Funeral Arrangements

Baptism Arrangements

Until further notice all baptisms will be held in St Nicholas Church.  In line with current advise, up to 6 people can accompany the child.  Face masks must be worn & hand sanitiser is provided at the entrance door.  Please contact the Parish Office for more information and to book a baptism.  Baptisms are held on the 2nd and 4th weekend of each month.  Times: Saturday at  5.00pm  in St Nicholas Church & Sunday at 1.00pm in St Munchins College Chapel.

Baptisms take place on the 2nd & 4th weekend of each month (except December which is on the 2nd & 3rd weekend); on Saturday evening at 5.00 p.m. & Sunday at 1.00pm

The Baptismal Ceremony is in two parts.

Part 1:  The Baptismal Preparation Team meets with the Parent(s) on the last Thursday of every month (except December) in St. Nicholas’s church at 7.30 p.m.
This must be attended at least one month prior to the Baptism. (This has temporarily suspended due to Covid 19)

Part 2:  Welcoming Ceremony – 2nd Sunday of the month at 10.30 a.m. Mass

Marriage Arrangements

Couples must give at least three month’s notice of their marriage to Church and State. Pre-marriage courses can be arranged with Accord, St. Munchin’s College, Corbally. (061) 343000.

Booking is advisable at least 6 months in advance.

Eucharist and First Communion

We realise the bulk of the preparation is done through the local schools.
As a parish we support this work through the Do This in Memory of Me programme for First Holy Communion.

Reconciliation (Confession)

Following the Saturday Vigil Mass or on request.

Housebound and Sacrament of the Sick

On request.
